Grazie ad una presentazione dell'amico Luciano S. che non scrive sul forum, ma ci legge spesso, mi sono messo in contatto con il grande
Adrian Streather
che certo la gran parte di voi conoscono benissimo, se non altro come autore del libro "Porsche 911 Entusiast's Companion" dedicato interamente alla 964.
Ebbene... ci farà l'onore, ed il grande piacere, di entrare a far parte della nostra comunità virtuale.
... e noi lo accoglieremo a braccia aperte , come merita !!!
Thanks to our friend Luciano S., who introduced me to him, I got in touch with the great Adrian Streather, who is certainly well known to the most part of you, at least as the writer of the famous book "Porsche 911 Entusiast's Companion", interely devoted to the 964.
Well... its'true ! He will please and honor us joining our virtual community !

Adrian, I took a glance to the SC project and I notest that from the "acknowledgements" there is no one from Italy.
please, take in consideration even our contribution (many people own a SC, like me) in the future, even if we understand that not so many people from porschemania speak english.

Dear Alex,
The reason there is nobody from Italy in the 911SC book is because nobody from Italy contributed. I posted my needs all around the world on a number of forums. Unfortunately it was not picked up by Italian Porsche 911SC owners.
I do not have a huge Italian contribution to my 993 book either. This can be fixed of course.
I desire always to have the largest cross section of people from around the world in my books. I am sure though that you understand that I cannot trawl every web site leaving messages. In fact I got into trouble on Rennlist when I asked for help once.
Language is not the issue it is getting the message out and or having it passed on.

thank you for your promt reply. I agree with you that the lack of italian contribution can be fixed. I have a big dictionary english-italian in front of me; I think that many people from porschemania will have it soon as well... "ragazzi ce lo procuriamo un dizionario italiano-inglese"??
I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth... ;) so thanks to my madness I am happily married with a 993 4S and a SC cabriolet 7/83 California.
shall we see if everybody at Porschemania che be helpful to you in some way.

Hello Adrian,
really welcome to this amazing club where the contagiousness of this incredible Porsche virus is having already severe effects on most of us. I’m personally rather new myself as a member and as Porsche owner but the level of disease is already impressive…..
Never the less, I’ve been learning quite a lot in this period but what I got is just a drop in the sea of the Porsche knowledge and having the privilege to have a person like you with your patrimony of knowledge, passion, connection is very qualifying for all of us.

I have many projects related to Le Mans 2005 looking for sponsorship and if we have any millionaires the opportunity to get into the record books with the fastest Porsche in history. An attempt to reach the speed of 400 kph and take the record away from McLaren.
The financier gets to keep the car as well. This is a dream of my friends at Sportec and I would like to help it come true.

Dear Valerio,
The speed record being sought is the "Production car" record. The TVR that reached 408 kph did not meet the FIA requirements for a production cars and it did not comply with the actual regulations for running the record either.
Many cars have actually exceeded 400 kph but none of them met or followed the rules to claim the record.
