Americano from Cesena (FO) here to say hello. Can one of you guys translate this important article for me properly, sorry I not fluent in Italiano yet...Friend in America told me to look for this possible problem in addition to routine timing belt service. Article addresses major service precaution for 928's on road today! With some automatic equipped 928's, drive shaft will migrate forward & place enough pressure on motor crankshaft to cause failure in motor thrust bearing. Is only 1 thrust bearing that controls "forward & rearward" driveshaft movement along motor axis. Failure of bearing allows crankshaft to grind into engine block and causes catastrophic damage!
Simple 1 hour procedure to reduce odds of a thrust bearing failure to release tension on flex plate. Recommended you all check your flex plate tension at each major service. One additional hour of labor may save your engine block, money well spent! I attach PDF file (Ingles sorry) for details. If no attachment seen, email me for this information, caio tutti

Stefano, si I remember you... also grazie for invite, but me lavoro fine-settimana Aviano. Also my 928 is down for timing belt & acua pumpa cambio. Ora cercando meccanico buono più per seguire presto, grazie da tutti! ! Rimanga in contatto.
